So let me get this straight we now have people who have zero musical talent, that play no instruments, can’t even sing badly, using the shiny new toy of “Artificial Intelligence” computer software & algorithms to generate facsimiles of real music, made by real humans on real instruments, claiming & receiving praise for “composing” great new “songs”, because they typed in some commands decorated with adjectives and voila or poof they’re all the sudden a great new composer. That’s like a person standing at the counter at Burger King and ordering a burger with ‘hold the lettuce, hold the pickles’ and then claiming they (the person ordering) cooked and made that burger themselves, with the difference being, hopefully at least, the burger is actually real food ….. the fact is AI generated “music” is not music at all, why?
Because there are no instruments being played, there are no singers singing, all that is being produced is a mimicking or imitation, similar to the way a parrot mimics human speech. Or how a camera takes a photo, we don’t take a picture of our family or pets & then turn around and claim the picture is actually the living breathing subject depicted therein. Yet that’s exactly what’s being done with AI. What makes this “AI music” such a nefarious & slippery slope is that along with people using it to gain stolen valor, is that it robs real human composers, singers & musicians of their due. By loss of appreciation, ability to earn an income with their talents and their ability to impact listeners, in order to supplant humans with nothing more than computer code. Listeners are robbed of the human connection both audibly & spiritually between performer and audience. And that doesn’t even touch on how or where AI gets it’s models for creating these lifeless sonic abominations.
AI uses what’s called “scraping” which means it scours every data base, published work and recorded performance it can access and absorbs it into its digital hive mind. And basically commits copyright infringement against millions if not billions of real legitimate music works and the artists who created them, with every so called ‘song’ it spits out. It completely floors me how so many in the “Truth movement” have jumped on the AI bandwagon and embraced the replacement of human made art. Art meant for other humans to enjoy, be inspired by, comforted and united by. With cold lifeless calculations & meaningless disjointed process rendering. When real humans stop creating, listening, performing & connecting through what God gave us to communicate across language barriers, healing and soothing for the soul. We will be that much closer to being locked down in the digital prison/hell the enemies of humanity have sought after for all of history. I pray we ‘humans’ wake up & snap out of the spell we’re being led under like Hansel & Gretel, before the ‘witch’ slams the oven door.
