Greetings and salutations……..
It’s Easter weekend 2023 already and this is my first post of the year…..(talk about hit or miss).
First, I hope this post finds you in the best of circumstances, health and happiness. As I write, I want to give notice of my new upcoming album to be released late May/early June 2023. It is entitled “Fading…….” and features a set of highly personal songs which deal with life, love, relationships, and moving on. The majority of this new record is in the last stages of production, with final mixing and mastering underway now. The track count on “Fading…….” is at the moment sitting at 9 songs, with the probable addition of 2 or 3 more tracks as inspiration strikes, before release. There will be more to come on this shortly.
I have plans to start doing some live shows, starting this month with hosting an open mic, and a set or two with my old Bill Boyd Band bassist, David Robertson at a Terrell Tx. venue, whose name I haven’t the slightest clue at the moment. I will be doing some solo gigs as well on guitar and piano, and will post those on billeboyd.com as they come up through this spring and summer. I am also working on a few singles for release and another possible album’s worth of material to be released before the end of the year.
I am more and more as these times we are in unfold, becoming a devotee to seeking the truth and striving for honesty and realism in the music I make, and the way I interact with this time and space as an artist and human being. They’re connected you know, just as all things in existence are connected. One cannot be an artist, writer, musician or creator, in the human realm without first examining these connections and how they relate through the filter of being human, fallible, mortal and imperfect. Simply put, wearing our humanity without apology, and embracing it as our greatest resource, we find the absolutely astounding glimpses into the HUMAN SPIRIT that frees hearts, minds, and souls, to ascend above our limits as individuals and embrace our God Given purpose as a species. The honor and glory of the Creator reflected in the Creation !!
